ABOUT THIS PAINTING
The Canadian lynx is a stealthy night hunter, as elusive and mystical as an owl.
These territorial cats live deep in the forest, where their survival is tied
directly to the snowshoe hare. Because hares are their primary food source, lynx
populations strictly follow the boom-and-bust cycles of their prey. However, climate
change now threatens this balance; as snow patterns shift, the hares' seasonal color
changes no longer provide effective camouflage, making it harder for both species to
survive.
