There are actually two main subjects in this painting as it was the old weathered stump I fell in love with first.
It is filled with character with it’s holes, cracks & scratches, bent nails and rusty chain. The icing on the cake perse is the Robin perched on top, watching the field behind him, singing his song.
I love the contrast of his bright red chest against the dull grayish colors in the early spring.
